Role Description:
Topline Murphy & O’ Connor, Bantry, Co. Cork are recruiting a Saw Mill Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production, quality control, safety and operation of the Saw Mill to fulfil customer orders. This includes checking, processing and handling customer order documentation.
Duties
- To process and complete customer orders within the saw mill;
- To operate the saw mill machines including circular saw, cross saw and table saw;
- To operate the wood planer to reduce thickness of wood for customer orders;
- To inspect equipment regularly to ensure it is always in good and safe working condition;
- Be responsible for stacking and storing timber safely in the saw mill;
- Liaise with other staff members and the manager as appropriate;
- Keep the saw mill and surrounding area clean and tidy.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role;
- Previous machine experience;
- Excellent knowledge and experience of working with wood;
- Have safety knowledge;
- Be organised and have ability to prioritise duties;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to use own initiative and also work as part of a team.
