Rockwell are currently recruiting an experienced Pipefitter to join an exciting mechanical engineering project, on a full-time basis.
The initial location for this position will be the wider Longford area. However, Rockwell's headquarters are based in Cork, and willingness and ability to travel within Ireland is required for this position.
About the Role
This role requires the successful candidate to be comfortable in working with screwed carbon steel pipework.
The role includes the assembly, laying, installing, and maintaining of pipes.
The pipe systems may include, but are not limited to: pipes, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangers and angles.
The role requires both inside and outside work.
Further duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Appropriate use of tools, including power tools, and equipment.
- Correct use of gas cutting equipment (burning gear).
- Maintaining and checking of own small tools and equipment.
- Reading and interpreting drawings.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and risks associated with tasks.
About You
The ideal candidate will be organised and efficient, pay strong attention to detail, be a good communicator and have previous experience working in a similar environment.
You will have:
- Previous relevant work experience
- Valid CCNSG safety passport
- Valid Safe Pass is required for this position.
- Valid Manual Handling Certification would be preferred for this position.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) pertaining to this role, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
- Own transport is also a necessity for this position.
