Senior Accounts Assistant (Cork City)
Our client is a leading independent firm of accountants with offices in Cork and Dublin. They are looking to appoint an experienced accounts professional to take on a key role where you will responsible for variety of accounting tasks. The successful candidate will have a background in accounting, possess strong communication skills, and be proficient in accounting software.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Post sales invoices and debtor receipts.
- Post purchase invoices and creditor payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile the Trial Balance on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and file VAT returns to Revenue.
- Prepare and file RCT returns.
- Complete VIES and Intrastat returns.
- Submit CSO returns.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic Management Accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of accounts for Audit.
Payroll and Compliance:
- Run weekly and monthly payroll and submit to Revenue.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Requirements
- Qualified Accounting Technician or similar qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Experience with Sage Payroll, Xero, and Big Red Book would be an advantage.

- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Team player who can demonstrate flexibility when required.
- Fluent in English with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
