Nurse RGN: 4-5 Hours/day, 20-30 Hours/week, Cork City & Carrigaline

 

Home and Away Care is a provider of home health care on behalf of the HSE and privately. We are led by a medical and nursing team. We offer care in the community and at home for all ages including the elderly, those with chronic disease(s), palliative care needs and end of life care. We deliver care that is Safe, Caring, Reliable and Patient Centric.

We require experienced General Nurses to join our Community and Homecare team in Cork city, Carrigaline and West Cork

The Nurse will have a Clinical and Administrative role which will involve but not limited to :

• Assessment of client care needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care delivered
• Provision of general nursing care.
• The co-ordination of care and working collaboratively with other MDT, the HSE and the homecare support managers.
• Ensuring the service provided is in line with best practice guidelines
• Assist in the training of healthcare assistants
• Support the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of clinical standards
• Support the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality service.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records

Candidates must:

• be on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives.
• have a minimum of 3 years post registration experience, to include a minimum of 2 years in an acute hospital setting and 1 years experience in care of the elderly. Ideally, previous experience in tracheostomy care and PEG feed
• have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice

Job Type: Part-time, 4-5 hours per day; 20-30 hours per week, flexible hours and days, No night work. Some weekend availability
