Youth Worker


 

To engage with target groups of young people in meaningful youth work opportunities that promotes their personal and social development. The Youth worker will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of youth work programmes, interventions and supports to young people (aged 10-25) after school and at high-risk times in the evening.

Young People

· Support young people to access and engage in programmes and services that promote personal development, communication, positive relationships and physical and mental health and well-being

· Reach out to marginalised young people to access the services of the organisation

· Work with young people using a variety of methods including.

group work, one to one work, detached youth work, holiday provision, residential work, digital youth work, structured drop-in & evidenced informed programmes.

  • Ensure that the protection and welfare of children is a primary concern and that, when child protection issues arise, procedures are followed

· Planning, developing and implementing needs-based programmes/projects for young people, in conjunction with the Youth Work Line Manager and the Project team.

· Committed to involving young people in processes and decisions that may affect their lives through Youth Participation

Collaboration & Communication

· Actively take part in local networks and groups.

· Build relationships and engage with other relevant agencies and services. Signpost as appropriate.

Training & Development

· Undertake approved training for professional development

· To prepare for and attend individual supervision on a regular basis

Administration

· To work within assigned budgets

· To undertake administrative duties relevant to the position, including maintenance of records and provision of reports as required.

· Maintain efficient incident & accident reports.

· Assessments and Individual plans

Quality

· Ensure compliance with relevant Quality Standards such as Health & Safety, GDPR, and Safeguarding

· Represent the organisation in a professional manner at all times and maintain high standards by adhering to policies and procedures.

· Attend team meetings and other organisational fora as required.

· Maintain confidentiality at all times.

· Ensure that activities, work and leisure areas are safe & secure to carry out duties.

Other

· Carry out any other reasonable duties & responsibilities deemed necessary by LYS or project committee.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: €31,980.00-€40,000.00 per year
